2007 Winners

In 2007 the IPENZ Foundation awarded scholarships to five students going on to tertiary education in engineering.

The Trustees were overwhelmed with the level of interest shown in the scholarships and were delighted to receive nearly 100 applications.

Each winner receives a one-time award of $5,000 towards their university costs. Students from Years 12 or 13 are eligible to apply and the winners are chosen on the basis of their intent to pursue engineering as a career, motivation to succeed, academic merit and contribution to the wider community.

The scholarships are part of the Foundation’s objective of encouraging New Zealand school leavers into tertiary education and technology. The Foundation has been able to raise the profile of engineering amongst secondary school students and will continue to offer this type of scholarship each year. The Trustees would like to thank all candidates for their time and the considerable effort they went to in submitting an application.
