As part of the Foundation’s objective 'To encourage New Zealand school leavers into tertiary education and technology', scholarships are offered annually for the purpose of assisting with university costs.
Six scholarships, each valued at $4,000, are being offered in 2014 for study commencing in 2015. Students from Years 12 or 13 are eligible to apply, and the winners are chosen on the basis of their intent to pursue engineering as a career, motivation to succeed, academic merit and contribution to the wider community.
The scholarships are intended for those studying any of the following IPENZ-accredited degrees:
- A four-year Bachelor of Engineering – BE
- A four-year Bachelor of Engineering Honours – BE (Hons)
- A three-year Bachelor of Engineering Technology – BEngTech.
The online Scholarship Application Portal is currently being updated. Students interested in applying this year for a 2015 Scholarship can register their interest here if they would like to be notified when the portal is open (expected to be late July).
